In 2011 someone from Google emailed me and told me they were launching a really cool service called "Google Hangouts" and if I wanted to be one of the first to use the service, I could do it! Well, I was in the middle of preparing to launch my company, "Geek and Sundry" and I couldn't really add anything intensive onto my schedule. So I thought, "What do I do that I could talk about and wouldn't add any time to my day?" And that is how "Vaginal Fantasy" was born.
"Vaginal Fantasy" is a book club where my friends Veronica Belmont, Bonnie Burton and Kiala Kazebee and I discuss a genre romance book once a month in a live stream, and drink a wee bit of alcohol while we do it. The name is tongue in cheek, and a lot of people are put off because of it, so I should change it, but I can't. The logo makes me laugh too much.
The thing I love most about this project is that members of the group get together on their own, in person or online, to discuss the books themselves, locally. There are over a dozen groups across the globe, and the idea of helping people meet through reading guilty pleasure literature fills my day with joy. We are twelve thousand members strong over on Goodreads, if you want to join, come on over! Or just watch the video. Either is fine.
