Eureka
There are a few times in life when you REALLY get rewarded for working hard. That is the story of why I am playing “Dr. Holly Martin” on Eureka.

The exec producer Amy Berg and showrunner Jamie Paglia were aware of my work on the web (because they are awesome, true geeks themselves) and they actually CREATED this role for me. Yep, no Hollywood agents, no horrific auditions where I cry in the car afterwards, they simply called me in for a meeting and basically created the funnest character I’ve ever played. And KEPT writing her in! The great thing about Eureka is that it’s a wonderful balance of quirky comedy and drama, the exact tone and sensibility I love to play. And the crew is truly wonderful. So seriously, couldn’t be a bigger dream come true to be flying back and forth to Vancouver and playing around with what I like to call my Canadian family now. 
As of this writing, I’ve done 13 episodes over seasons 4 and 5. My debut on the show will be July 18th, and I can’t wait for you to watch!

This is the perfect show for you. Glad to know the writers understand that. I was pretty sure Eureka had jumped the shark and was headed for the saturday morning dust bin. This could bring some life back to the involvements which were getting sorta stale.
Ok, they could have started a Geek Bachelorette series but somehow I think the cast members would be playing too many games and not having enough just off camera sex. Oh wait! Maybe they would be having too much instead of scheming to off each other on camera. Eureka!
I am extremely excited. I was already counting the days until the next season of Eureka, and knowing that you will be starring can only heighten my anticipation.
I don’t want to gush too much, but I have to say this: there are some shows you watch for the storyline (BSG), there are some shows you watch for the creator (Buffy, Angel), and there are some shows you watch for the actors they star (Anything with NPH, you, or, well, pretty much anyone from the cast of Dr. Horrible). It is a dream come true when categories combine.

I second that.. I actually don’t watch much TV these days but I tend to get excited when I find out a favorite writer or actor is involved somehow. Extra bonus points for Blitz for alluding to Joss Whedon. I miss Firefly… =o(

I did not even know Eureka was running after all these years! I had thought “SyFy” turned into Fox and started to kill off all their good shows. Darn.. Knowing that you’re on the show gives me extra incentive to catch up.

I actually came across your site while searching for the number of shows you were going to be doing with Eureka. I can not say how perfect this match is. You were great in the episode today. I have been a huge fan since Dr. Horrible. Your ability to portray intelligent, endearing, and very humorous characters is going to be a lot of fun to watch on this great show

I just watched the episode Reprise and I saw your character and I was wondering where I had seen you before so I looked up the episode saw your name in the credits and stumbled on here where the Guild was located. Bing Light bulb. That’s cool that you went from a small show to a more main stream show. I think it’s awesome that they put you in more episodes.

I think you are beautiful, intelligent and funny. I love the character they created for you and that you have done 13 episodes so far out of what I hope becomes 100 or more. You are, not only, a wonderful addition to the show but someone that I will be following from here on out. I guess I better start watching The Guild.

I stumbled across Guild Wars a while back and got hooked. I watched every episode back to back. It was great and you did an awesome job but I was sad there weren’t more. Today I was flipping through channels and landed on Eureka I was delighted to see you on there. I have not watched that show in a long time but I will be watching it regularly from now on. I’m hoping that IMDBs count is right, but comparing to the fact that Felica said she had done 13 episodes and had only been in 10, that means she is coming back. Not sure how, but we will see her again!!! #crossingfingers
Holy crap last night’s episode was total BS! I had the feeling something was going to happen and that I would be disappointed, but dammit this is down right infuriating.
I completely agree that it was done without enough foreboding, and the corresponding emotional investment. Another complaint was the lack of tech-business involved in the life-support-interface systems.
Yeah I’m really bummed about what happened too. My guess is, Holly will now be an npc in the construct.
Poor Fargo, guy has the worst luck in love, plus its BS that Senator Win is the one to kill her. They killed her so easily, like we weren’t supposed to care. Hope Fargo goes postal on Beverly and the good Senator soon.
There must be some way to revive people in Eureka, right? Maybe just the senator is in a matrix thing and in reality she’s the only one being tested…
Holy stromboli! Last night was such an OMG moment for your eureka. It was very powerful and a place the show hasn’t really gone before. Hmm, now I want Italian for lunch…
Hopefully it sticks because anything less would invalidate the strength of those final few minutes and would be a disservice to the show and Felicia’s talent as an actress to get us to care so much.
Perhaps Beverly creates a version of Holly to try to keep the premise going,or in the final episode our five reality hopping characters make it back to their eureka, and a version of Holly is introduced there.
I know this is the last season for Eureka but why did they have to kill you so soon. it will be hard to watch without you.
I’m willing to bet money that she isn’t really dead. When they shot the last episode of the show, Felicia was tweeting about being there. I think, as weird as it sounds, that Beverly might have saved her.

OMG, what is wrong with syfy do they not know how to run their network properly. First they cancel eureka the best show currently on TV and then they go and kill off one of the shows best characters before the series is even over. Although i have to say flauless acting on your part felicia well done. You’ll be missed very much.
Eureka should end with Codex waking up next to her computer and telling her guild mates that she’s just had the weirdest dream. It’s a classic.

As longtime fan of The Guild, I was extremely happy to see you on Eureka. I was pretty bummed out when your character revealed the glitch in the Matrix, but she was, honestly, the best character to get that leap of logic. Great work and I can’t wait to see more of you in other shows!

I’m a big fan! I LOVE the guild and I loved you on Eureka! I’m so sad that you were killed on the show. You and Fargo made a great couple and I thought that you added a lot to the show. I hope to see more of you in the future on something more permanent. You are a great actor. I wish that I had met more fun and talented people like you when I was living in Hollywood. If that had been the case I might have stayed and put up with all of the hassle, lol.

Love your acting! I think it would be a stupid move to kill your character off- but this seems to be the standard practice on TV.
TV Execthink:
a) If a show kicks ass and has a huge following- cancel it for no reason.
b) If people watch a show BECAUSE of a character- kill them off for no reason.
c) Basically, if the show is great, make sure to destroy the good things about it then act confused when it drops on the ratings.
That said- hope your character is not really dead! Lots of room for retcon!

This says 13 episodes, but we have seen only 10. Also, you said “as of this writing, I have done 13 episodes” which could mean there are more. Please tell me my deduction is right!
I DID have a bad feeling when they started the season off with a twisted, time-displaced version of “the machines are taking over”, but thought things were back to normal when it turned out to be ‘just’ a Matrix / virtual reality.
I’m wondering – was this season start a rewritten version of a ‘shake-up’ of the series, which was undone by placing it in a virtual reality, because it changed too much?
Anyway, killing off Holly like that was just WRONG. And where were the sad faces (apart from Fargo’s) and the funeral?
If Holly really is dead, then, to me, this was the last episode of Eureka, and the writers can go screw themselves with a big cactus.
Liked her character lots and rooting for Fargo to have happy ending. Maybe somehow Dr. Martin will make it back…there was no mention of finding her body…no funeral yet. So, some Eureka twist/magic…holding out for hope. Writers and producers, went big plot and “killed” good character because it’s the last season. Does not feel right.
Ya I wasn’t impressed when Eureka killed off your character. I was only watching that show because they brought you and Wil Wheaton on there. Now it’s down to Wheaton. Feels like half a show.
The acting for this role is perfect. She’s been great – the actress, the character. I will miss the character but look forward the Ms. Day’s next roles.
But I really, really don’t want Holly to go.

As I suspected, it was more about Felicia’s crazy schedule last year, than anything else.
I’ve no doubt that she’ll return (it’s even hinted in the article). It’s more the manner in which it happens that is my concern.
I hope she will have time for more appearances in Supernatural (of course they’ll want her to :p).
I really hope they bring Holly back because she has quickly become one of my favorite characters. I had already steeled myself for the loss of the show but I’ve been consoling myself with the thought that I have one more season to enjoy. Having Holly die before I had even gotten over my initial season premiere high was so many kinds of cruel. I’ve heard lots of people say that they don’t want Holly to return as an AI. I just want her back in any form. Her funny non sequiturs, her frankness, her wonder and joy–these human qualities may slide somewhat but I’m sure it will be to comic effect. I don’t know about another timeline shift. Although time manipulation IS a time honored tradition in the Eureka-verse and could tie things together, that option runs a high risk of disappointment. In fact, with all the ways that characters have been brought back to Eureka before, there aren’t many roads left unexplored. Do it anyway!

The other characters than Fargo cares a lot less about Holly’s death than I do, and I care a lot less about the show now.
The fact is that we haven’t seen the body yet though. Beverly might be lying.
I won’t bother cutting back spoilers since I’ve read the other comments that already give them away. You saw the word spoiler, you can look away now if you like
I do agree that I was rather upset with the writers for killing Holly. We were already sad at syfy for cutting the series short a promised two more seasons to just one more. Even sadder that Holly dies so quickly into the first season. My husband and I both cried and were rather horrified they did it. It seems a bit childish now, but my hard reaction, despite liking many of the other characters (Jo might be my favourite, she’s up there with Holly at least) is to not watch any more. I’m watching now with sincere hope to see Holly return (and not just as an AI). I’m holding on to hope that Beverly decided to save her somehow after Wen left, that perhaps she has Holly hooked up to her own secret VR bed to be saved later in the season.
The funniest thing about it was trying to sleep the night after. My sleep was awful! I kept waking in and out of dreams where I was frustrated in my attempts to dream the episode into saving Holly. I even enlisted the help of Sheldon and Howard from the Big Bang Theory (I think Howard only ’cause of his engineering specialization). Sheldon was probably the personification of my frustration in trying to redream out a plot that wouldn’t budge.
At one point I woke up to my husband apologizing for being restless (he thought he woke me up). I laughed and told him it wasn’t him, I’ve spending all night trying to save Holly. He laughed and said, “Me too!”
I may have come onto the Day boat late, but I’m glad your pre-Eureka stuff is still around for late-comers like me to enjoy. You truly made Holly a loveably quirky and intelligent character to love! Also, your acting during your death scene was A++

As I watched the final moments of the 2nd episode (was it?), I really was devastated.
Holly was dead. No heroics, no last stand or anything. She assumed (not even know!) too much, pull the plug, dead.
Sure, the character wasn’t as long in the show than others, but I could easily get over Allison or what’s-her-name-Henry’s-girl. (Those girls are just boring).
But not Holly!
I really hope she will be back (for real, not some holographic, clone, or robot).
I hope Holly isn’t really die on Eureka. You are a true highlight of the show. I love you character. I am geeky myself and what is better than a smart, funny, corky, fabulous lady on television? Not much.
After the latest episode and the strange brain wave they all seem to have. My guess is that Holly’s mind is still in all the people that were connected to the Matrix and they will have to get her back into her body at some point.
THe advert for the body swapping episode might back this theory up.
I believe Beverly took her because she did say Dr. Martin was too smart to kill and that they could use her. So maybe Beverly did take her and is still using her for something.

I’ve been depressed since that episode. I only found Eureka because of Felicia Day. I will watch anything she is on. Power to the girl geeks! You guys have given me hope for her return. the logical step for ur role on eureka would ether be two out comes. 1. find a way to get u a new body . or 2. delete ur (mental program) off the system. i think your role on the show is realy nice so i would hate it if they choose to take option 2. and option 1 is cool cuz they can ether find u a new body or create a new body for u. flesh, hologram, or mechanical like the robot cop. but in all i hope they keep u on the show.
since Eureka is ending this season, I am hoping they do a new series starring Holly and Fargo in a cyber universe where anything could happen because they can imagine it. Including bringing back Eureka friends from time to time. Holly’s death was stunning and unbelievable, so it is good to see that she is back. All on Eureka are fun, but Holly was/is my favorite. FYI, my daughter in law is JUST LIKE HER, lucky me.

It’s actually more depressing now. Also, By the end of season 4, Holly’s function in the show was pretty much only to be a love interest of Fargo. Now she literally only exists for that purpose. It’s a bit sad they can’t think of more to do with her, cause it’s a great charactor.
I hope they don’t go the Hollybot route. That would just be creepy. It makes me think of the most loathsome bad guy in Buffy.
Eureka could go on for several more seasons if it were to revert to its original premise of strange events caused by residents of the town. Instead it has been focused on gimmicky episodes and love stories. No surprise Syfy pulled the plug on Collin Ferg and his gang of verbal puke hurlers he calls writers.
Btw I am not anti-love story. I just believe Eureka used to be more subtle about it and now it’s gotten ridiculous because Producers are reaching for a new demographic. This has hurt the show and usually is the case.
Yeah, it has gotten way to soapy. I mean that whole Jo/Carter/Allison thing…. How much more daft would it have become, had they gotten more seasons? Also, try and imagine working at a place, where all the higher-ups were romantically involved with eachother.
If they’re trying to reach new democraphics, they seem to be failing, judging by the ratings.
Felicia – I think Holly is one of top characters on Eureka. I love that character. As I am seeing searson 5 unfold, I am glad that she is still around – I cried so hard (and I’m a guy) when she died. Anyway, I can’t imagine anyone else playing that role. You are really pleasent to watch on the screen and you definitely do quirky and funny very well – i suppose like many of us, it comes natural! So – gosh, I wish there was something that could be done to save Eureka because I sure would like to keep watching your story unfold. Best of luck in everything else, as well.
Holly’s body is kept hide away in a secret installation by the evil doctor of Eureka….

Hope the execs will reconsider or other channel could peek the show up and Felicia will become a resident. She definitely brings color to every play she is in. Thanks god the authors left a window of opportunity for Holly’s ressurection – Bewerly’s “Big Face” like she is considering something when the senator was giving the command of Dr. Martin’s body disposal and the fact that she was able to place Senator in VR tells us that she have the necessary machinery somewhere hidden (maybe an early prototype or so).
I disagree with some comments above on the repositioning of the show and romantic involvement.
Eureka is a COMEDY show with a really dumb, fully illogical, pseudo-scientific gags (with most moronic examples being genetically engineered Titan bats which are however seems to be perfectly vital under the Earth conditions, or a star INSIDE of the athmosphere). Kinda like CSI but not taking itself so seriously. And that is what made the show popular and lovable. So introducing Felicia’s character – geeky, funny and sexy have put the show back on track and increase the interest of an existing auditory. And I’d say – well done job, producers!!! With Felicia intruduced I at least have much more enjoyed watching it. Colin just can’t do all the job by himself.
@ John and Johny. As for romantic involvement – Eureka is a pretty closed community, naturally they would all get involved with each other if not happened yet, with the next step being inbreeding. This part is actually very realistic for given conditions. And it happens every day with a classic example of a boss sleeping with it’s secretary, or pretty girls without any serious education or experience getting promoted to the top.
I think actually what is much less realistic is that the higher-ups are not being clinical sociopaths and borderline criminals. But then again this show is a fantasy, not a reality and not to be considered as such. That’s why we love it and that’s why we watch it – to escape the reality.
So it’s a real bummer that the show got cancelled and Felicia removed from it. I am sad
P.S.: Abit off the topic, but. You know where I would like to see Felicia Day? In “Grimm”! May be also as a co-producer. She would so bring that show to the very next level.

ya Joe is getting soft. When she opened up to Jack(who was really Allison in his body), I thought to my self, “This isn’t Joe and she would never say something like that to Jack.” She was too kind and girly. The Joe I know always says SHUTUP to everyone and threatens to beat their ass if they mess with her. But still I love the show and I wish they don’t end it
Matrix inside a Matrix? Kind of like Inception, a dream within a dream. That would make sense but if that’s not the case then Holly’s body better be unharmed and the only way to get her out is to have her body because in a preview it seemed like they were trying to teleport “matrix” Holly out of their, without her real body, which would be too confusing
Nah, they’re not going with the matrix within the matrix. For one thing, the writers have said that what is happening is real now. It would also be incredibly lame imo. I’d rather have Holly uploaded to a toaster, as much as I dislike that.
The promo does look like someone is coming out of a screen, but that seems a bit weird, even in a Sci-fi show. Next episode is called “Ex Machina” so that’s kinda implying that they’ll resolve the Holly situation.
What I find really curious is the still from the episode after the next episode, that has been uploaded to imdb. On one hand it seems like Holly is out of the Matrix, and interacting with several other characters, in what looks like a TableTop crossover. However, she is actually wearing her Matrix-outfit, so I don’t know. Why would they have a small child enter the Matrix? Also, Fargo has beard, which implies some time has passed. Confusing.
I was sad at first when they “killed” you in start of the season but then when i saw youbalive in the “matrix” then i rejoiced, becouse you are allways happy and there is a honest spark in you that make us feel like nothing is impossible. DON’T ever lose that spark.

Must admit it was a pretty good episode, but I still don’t like the idea of Fargo building his own girlfriend, which is the obvious choice right now. Henry and Jack might be up to something that might help, though.
Fargo has grown a beard in the next episode (pictures released). That would imply that some time has passed.
I feel that this season lacks direction, in general.
I don’t get it. R u going to be a hologram for the rest of the season or is there still a chance to get you out. Also this whole thing is confusing. I wish they never found your body cause bringing you back now would seem inpossible
If they haven’t found her body then I was hoping Beverly has her somewhere on life support. Not happy about losing Holly. Love her character and sad Fargo took so long to find someone only to lose her so quickly. Bring Holly back please!
It’s kinda going the way for Holly that I feared it would, but at the same time her arch is the only active one with actual sci-fi themes. At the same time she doesn’t seem to be reflecting much over her situation. They want the drama but they don’t want follow through. If they can’t deal with the deeper and darker aspects, then they shouldn’t have killed her.

I knew from the start that Holly would somehow get Nixxed,, All of the women that have dated Fargo either get killed or sent away.. Sad really. I really enjoy Felicia’s acting style and Holly is a awesome role. I wish that they hadnt cancelled Eureka would have enjoyed seeing more of the story arc for Holly and Fargo.
Sorry for the language but I also was pissed when they killed you. Would have been nice if you could of been brought into the series at an earlier season. I think it’s starting to take the mickey, how many times they’ve had to save your character in this season now. After all that’s she’s been through, they could at least give her superpowers. Having glowing eyes does not count!
The Grace thing was promising for the last couple of episodes. Maybe something interesting will happen with the main story. Hopefully there will less Allison vs. Jack, because that has gotten old.
That was hands down the best episode of the season. Seeing you being evil instead of being the victim was just awesome and satisfying! I hope Penny comes back evil and creepy in Dr. Horrible 2. At least some of the time.
I fell in love with Holly Marten, not an easy thing to do at 62. And when she was killed (thankfully brought back) I almost stopped watching Eureka. I’ve read SciFi for better than 50 years, and I really loved your portrayal of a Rocket Scientist with a penchant for run-on sentences. By profession I’ve been a film editor for over 30 years, and I thought from the first that Eureka was something special, and you added much to that enjoyment. Keep working ob your own stuff, it’s the most rewarding thing you can do. I’m a fan! Would love to meet you someday.

just finished Eureka season 5. I really like Holly and really liked it that Fargo finally get his perfect girlfriend. So I was very upset when she had to die in the Eureka Matrix. But was delighted later on she got her new body. But who’s idea was it to torture both Fargo and Holly that much? I mean, they just got together, then separated, then back together again (holograph) and separated again when the npcs snatched her?
