I don’t normally care about top lists, but it’s kinda cool to be on this list at Spike.com with some of the actresses I personally geek out over, like Natalie Portman and Kristen Bell and Jenna Fischer. Thanks Spike!
Even MORE flattering was being listed in this Wired article entitled 5 Tips for Raising Your Girl Geek. The author’s advice includes to…
…teach her (your daughter) about all the wonderful girl geeks in history, like Ada Lovelace, Marie Curie and Felicia Day.
ME?! HOW COOL IS THAT?! If I’m inspiring other girls to be true to themselves and proud of not being mainstream or perfect looking…my work here is done.

My wife had a similar thing as your Geek Girl mention happen to her this week: she’s a scientist, and found herself quoted on a site alongside Galileo, Einstein and Robert Goddard. I imagine the gleeful shout that when up from her when she read that sounded much like yours much have!
