Chester’s Got a Brand-New BagWhen did the Cheetos cheetah become so delightfully creepy?
    By Seth Stevenson
Posted Monday, March 17, 2008, at 7:11 AM ET

The Spot: A woman washing her clothes at a Laundromat has a spat with a rude lady she encounters. Moments later, the first woman notices an animated cheetah sitting in the corner of the room—wearing sunglasses, playing chess. “Felicia,” says the cheetah, “those are her whites in the dryer.” He gives a knowing nod. Felicia grabs a handful of the bright orange Cheetos she’s been munching and furtively smears them into the rude lady’s gleaming white bedsheets. The cheetah disappears. “Join us,” reads the closing text. “OrangeUnderground.com.” (Click here to watch the ad.)

It’s so heartening to see Chester Cheetah stretching himself for a role after all these years. Though he’s long been a towering figure in the world of snack marketing, up to now Mr. Cheetah had never displayed an abundance of range. Frankly, I’d begun harboring doubts he was anything more than a two-dimensional jester.

Was also brought here by the Captain, Nathan Fillion. Give him hugs and thanks. He posted that we should vote, and I forwarded it on to many more people who also voted.

I also now have you bookmarked and have watched all the episodes of The Guild. You rock. :-)

Also, something you may find funny. I didn’t make it, but I get a kick out of it. :-)

Oh that’s awesome. You’ve roped Nate into promoting The Guild for you via his MySpace page. Way to leverage your personal network and the power of the interwebz. You’re on your way.

WOAH! I watched this right before I went to sleep, and I totally had a dream that you were being chased by a giant.
    A giant person.
I don’t know what his problem with you was, but he definitely wanted to step on you.

    Woah.

Congrats on winning the YouTube award!!

I have a feeling you’ll win the Yahoo! award as well, given that you’ve somehow got nearly twice the votes of Break a Leg at this point. There’s been some frenzied clicking, it seems.

    March 21st 2008 @ 8:00 PM

    Yay for Felicia!!!

Is it me or is your name everywhere these days? All the Joss sites are talking about Dr. Terrible and everyone else is talking about The Guild.

I recall requesting (a few months back) a musical episode of The Guild with Zaboo and Codex singing on a fire escape, basking in the moonlight (I guess I’m mentally stealing from West Side Story)…maybe Dr. Terrible will be the motivator to make The Guild musical a reality? (please?)

Meanwhile, super happy to hear you won another award. With the close interaction and your unflinching honesty on your blog, it feels like a vindication (or validation) for us fans. Obviously you are the ones on screen but it feels like a win for all of us!

    March 21st 2008 @ 10:25 PM

Congrats, Felicia. Whedonesquers are feeling like we’re getting to say we knew you when. You deserve this – talent & looks & brains & good humor occasionally do get recognized in this Holly of Wood.

Hurrah for you & your Guild. And for nerds everywhere of whatever flavor.

    March 22nd 2008 @ 1:58 AM

    “…whatever flavor..”

    *licks own hand..
