Season 6 Episode 1: Dream Questline

The Guild season 6 episode 1 is now LIVE on Geek and Sundry!

What to say about this episode…ack. It was the season that never should have been, really! We did 4 amazing seasons with Xbox/MSN, who were fantastic partners, and then their business model changed and The Guild didn’t have a home. I guess my fighting to keep ownership of the show was really to make THIS season, because when I approached YouTube about putting season 6 into the Geek and Sundry lineup, I had all the rights to do so. Most creators could never move their show from platform to platform like this, so I am incredibly lucky that I’m stubborn haha.

This episode was so hard to write. Strangely this season was the reverse of all other seasons: the last half was much easier to write than the first half. Writing is never the same each time they say, and per this season: that is 100% true. I had the shortest amount of time to write this season as well, and it’s the longest script, so BOY did I have a difficult summer. But when you start casting and getting locations and seeing new actors on set, wow that’s when you realize WHY you go to all that hard work. Because you’re MAKING SOMETHING!

There are TONS of BTS pieces this season, check this Guild Season 6 Extras playlist for the most comprehensive view into making a web series ever haha.

I am so thrilled to make another season for you guys, and really hope you enjoy. If you like our show and our channel please LIKE the video and spread word. We are still indie after all these years 🙂

Great episode! Loved how some plotlines from season 4 returned. I had a lot of “oh yeah, that WAS going on before the convention” moments. I REALLY could see the situation at the office going many ways–I could see everyone being terrified of Cyd, and I could see everyone resenting her and trying to make her life terrible, so long as the boss isn’t around. I’m really curious how you’ll play this.

And I loved that you brought the Guild to G&S (that acronym always makes me think of Gilbert and Sullivan). It makes sense there.

I really liked season 5 a lot, but I must admit it wasn’t my favourite Guild season, and I was wondering a bit how things would go on in terms of storytelling. All I can say is, it’s an AMAZING season premiere, really well written and all the rest of it!!!

Proud of you for standing up for your (copy) rights, Felicia! You set an excellent example.

Stay stubborn. Stay strong. Stay indie. Stay smart. Stay focused. Stay lucky.

It’s within this realm you are at your best. Please stay, create, grow, and share all of your wonderful, fun stories. 🙂

Congrats on a fantastic start to the new season of the Guild. May it be the best yet!

  • Okay, I’m impressed. Fantastic episode! Love the revamped intro, music and all. A great setup to what promises to be an awesome series. Thanks!

  • I had no idea that it was xbox’s side of the deal that fell, so happy youtube enabled you to continue and create even more content with Geek and Sundry.
Yay for being stubborn and keeping the rights to the show.

I seriously don’t know when you had time to write this season but happy the process got easier on the second half. Can’t wait to see the rest of the season! 🙂

Awesome start to the new season! I’m really excited about what’s in store. Thank you so much for delivering another season of this wonderful show.

  • Sic

I really liked the game company set.

  • Peter Richter

Legen–wait for it–dary xD liked the new intro, give congratz to the animator please. Like how you looked when you saw your avatar outfit. Thinks most want to know whatsup with Zaboo? He was so manly when he ran the SSBNFMCF something something in S5 and now he sucks his thumb, while being stalker-creepy, making your lunch S1 Zaboo, or is there method to your madness? Little continuity faux pas (not faukes paws), you have a diff car now. I’m just a stickler that way xD I did enjoy the easter eggs ie weapons wall, the hotel eagle on Vork’s table and the green bag in the background, and the geiger counter from??? Sorry THAT caught my eye after the 5th viewing (actually I lost count)

Hopefully when all is said and done, you will take a break for the rest of the year, you’ve been a very busy girl! Hugs from up North!

    What happened with X-box Live?

  • Roy

Thanks for pushing to get season 6 made 🙂

  • Ben

I have to admire all the hard work you, the cast and crew have done to bring us another fun adventure. I would like to have half your energy!
    Best Wishes!

I may have said this before, but can’t say it enough. Thank you.

  • Knutter

Two of my favourite G&S videos so far (beside The Guild): (1) the interview with Guillermo Del Toro on ‘The Strain’; (2) the bass cover of ‘I’m the One That’s Cool’ by TheMuseBass. (Although the latter seems to have vanished from the channel??!)

  • Knutter

Rewatched some old G&S vids. I think you should really do something with Amy Dallen (Tabletop, Ticket to Ride) – she’s eloquent, passionate, and has a lot to say!

  • Alex

I hope you get what I mean when I say it didn’t show that you had such a hard time writing it. It instantly feels right, perfectly sets up a bunch of plots and gets you sucked right in, wanting to know how everything turns out.

Wondering: when you say the second half was easy to write, was it because you already had that part in mind from the beginning and the tricky part was to actually prepare everything and “get there”, or because it was one of those situations where after all the setup, the rest just fell into place and “wrote itself”?

  • cendrieR

    Nice 🙂

  • Mette

LOVED first episode. Can’t wait for the next one!
Thank you for making awesome stuff, that you can watch all over the world (I’m watching from Denmark, far far away)..
Right now I’m waiting for the comics to arrive in the mail (YAY).
Keep doing what you are doing. It’s AWESOME!

  • I’ve been a huge fan of the series since the beginning but didn’t find it after you stopped taking donations. Probably a good thing as I’d have gone broke helping. 😉 I really admire how you’ve taken your idea from it’s humble start and have nurtured it to become what it is. Being a writer/actor myself I know how hard it is. Lastly, thank you for creating something that is adored by myself so many other people.

  • GuildLvr

I am so Impressed with this show period. I hope that you NEVER leave Guild behind for good. It is just awesomeness, in little short squirts (Blush)

  • Simon

This is probably one of the best web shows that I have ever seen. I remember when I saw the first episode and was like “omaigosh, I have to watch the rest!”

Too bad that I wont be able to catch up on this addiction of mine until I get back from deployment.

I always did wonder if there was the guild was based around an actual game or if it was just a mesh of experiences from different games. Either way I hope this show keeps going for a while; it’s just that awesome 🙂

  • veggiedude

I just discovered the Guild thru Netflix and I think it’s awesome. I love the scene where the stunt man goes falling down the steps and you say “I’m a strict, theoretical, vegetarian”. Is yours the first web series to get onto Netflix? Is that like making it mainstream? Does that mean the money rolling in now?? : )
