The Official Website of Felicia Day

Fast Company

Fast Company ran a bunch of GREAT articles today on web series, also featured in their August print edition! This video and the accompanying article were tons of fun to do (although looking glamorous is definitely the edge of my comfort level ๐Ÿ™‚ ). I loved that dress though! (SO FANCY!)

  • You look gorgeous and very natural, seems well within your comfort level ๐Ÿ™‚

    Plus, great interview!

  • Mike

WOW. Good interview. The shoot was… uh… nice as well. Yeah. Nice.

    I’ll be in my bunk…

  • Kirsten

    That dress is fabulous!! ๐Ÿ™‚
Awesome Interview, and don’t worry, we’re all enjoying season four!! <3

  • Reminds me series Warehouse 13 2×04 where I didn’t think Myka can be more beautiful, but she was and so do you. Season four is great. This trouble with computer shows exactly how I feel when I can’t get online. Withdrawal symptoms ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Convoy2010

Great interview and an outstanding job on season 4.
Congrats on everything and thank you for working so hard to
    share it with us all.

  • Well, you certainly brought the hot. I enjoy the writing and acting that is the Guild but I am the geek that seeks out this sort of thing… it makes a big difference on getting the attention of the world at large when the media can put a pretty face on the story. Of course that wouldn’t get very far if The Guild wasn’t the fine show that it is.

  • carlos

“felicia could be an entertaiment executive” Guess thats the highest compliment another entertainment executive can give , so gtz, seems you impressed him:)

  • You looked terrific in that shoot! Great interview too. 2:17, trouble walking in the heals, says you’re still one of us (yay!) whether you were joking around or not

  • Dani

As I said on twitter, I loved the video!!
You do a fine job looking glamorous! You were glowing!!

Reading the article and watching that video made me smile. =)

  • Helga.Q

    OMG, love the dress!!!

    you look awesome!!!

  • Markus Hunt

    Stunning. Absolutely stunning.

Intelligent and concise interview with a great article and a cracking little video too.

Definitely +5 to Stilt-Walking for those shoes!

  • Great job! You look lovely, and I love hearing about the business side of producing for the web.

  • ORi

Awesome video and you look stunning in it but the visual seems unrelated to the audio (modelling vs filmmaking) so my attention had hard time playing pong between them ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Robin Jenkins

Miss Felicia, you could make a burlap sack look amazing ^_^. Best to you and all the folks who put together The Guild. You make my week, every week. Keep it coming.

  • Soma

    such class!

    i cant wait for newVegas

  • Mwall5

    I loved it!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • joeku

Felicia Day a sex symbol? Those shots with her on the couch with a lovely pair of legs showing? I think so.

  • joeku

oh hell, that sounded a bit pervy, didn’t it? I wish I can take that message back and wrote what I actually want to say, which goes something like this:

I always thought that if you take Felicia on looks only, she’s probably not very attractive. Skin’s too pale, nose too big, weird looking teeth etc. However, if you consider how talented she is, how hard she seems to be working, not just to make great shows but also to try to connect with her fan each and every day, and how well spoken she is in interviews, and a great fun-to-be-around personality, then you add a professional photographer, a flattering pose, and some great lighting, I really think she can be considered sexy.

I’m not following any other main stream celebrities like I’m following FD. People like Megan Fox or Angelina Jolie bores me, but I’m keening interested in what Felicia’s doing. I guess this is what it means to be a fan.

  • Daley

    Hot make-up.

  • Charlie Levenson

They should have GIVEN you the dress.

If they didn’t, they should SEND it to you now.

That would be the right thing to do.

  • Vlada

Dress is lovely but pales in comparison with Felicia herself!
I watched ur series from the very start and very excited to see you getting well deserved fame and publicity, the other day my friend told me he heard dj talking about The Guild on the radio! Knights of the good FTW!;-)

  • len

Finally the glamour spread FD wanted with her message. Hot.

She’s lost that teenage look. She’s ready to play the evil biotch instead of the ingenue. Hmmm…. Glades or Burn Notice? I’d say The Guild has not many seasons left in it. Is a cougar gamer funny? To be determined.

Will she ever do a real drama, not the feel-good web-gen sort of kitsch, but the kind of role they give for Best Actress? Does she have the chops?

    I think so.

  • len

It’s the brains, bubba. That sounds trite, but brains really are the sexiest organ on a mammal.

A fan is someone who thanks you for a work you did 25 years ago, means it, says it and then lets you eat your soup without further interruption.

A fan doesn’t want to be you. They want you to be you.

Yet the longer a career lasts, it’s about the friends. It’s about the intimate touch. An untouched baby dies in the incubator.

A fan doesn’t reach for intimacy. They pray you have it but don’t try to find it for you or from you.

  • Zak

I laughed when you teetered into the studio on those heels ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to come to Gen Con with some of the other Guildies. Going to the panel for the Guild and Wil Wheaton’s reading was the highlight of the trip for me. (Also passing you guys walking on the street Friday night in Indy between hotels was very cool!) The panel was hilarious!

You and your crew do a wonderful job. As an almost 30 year old woman who has spent her life gaming (in all formats), reading constantly, and so on your hard work and creativity is an inspiration to me. You guys are awesome. Watching you talk about Ultima and True Dungeon at Gen Con… Priceless!

Very cool video. I agree with you on the sun. (It might be trying to kill us! hehe) Thanks for sharing the video. You look beautiful as always. Can’t wait to see you on Eureka, read more comics and watch more of the Guild.

  • Dude, you really should have quit while you were behind…

I suspect that pervy is preferable to insulting…and wrong.

  • Joeku, you really should have quit while you were behindโ€ฆ

I suspect that pervy is preferable to insultingโ€ฆand wrong.

  • Gambit

looking great felica… its good to see you having a good time. keep up the good work. do you know when we will be able to see your new series Red?

  • Neil Myers

  • Neil Myers

    To Philip:

(Comments don’t seem to be nesting…)

  • ORi

@Joeku You couldn’t be more wrong and calling yourself a perv is an insult to all pervy people.

  • Mikey

Very, very nice. Thank you for sharing with all of us!

  • Henrique

You are just amazingly talented and amazingly beautiful!
Can’t wait to see what other projects you have coming up.

  • Great article! And the video is 17 kinds of fabulous wrapped up in five-and-a-half kinds of awesome, standing on crazy crazy shoes.

Seeing Felicia sass it up for the camera reminds me of that wonderful behind-the-scenes video she did with the Bui Brothers, where she demonstrated how she “turns it on”. That was seriously the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen anybody do.

I mean it was even more adorable than that crazy fat Japanese cat that slides across the kitchen floor and wedges itself into a cereal box. Oh man, I love that cat so much!! What’s its name?

You know, if somebody ever made a video of Felicia (wearing crazy crazy shoes and a giant cat mask) sliding across the kitchen floor and wedging herself into a big cereal box – that would be, like, the first YouTube video ever to win the Academy Award!! Seriously. Somebody do that. Call Joss. Screw the Avengers. The world needs sliding cat-head-Felicia.

An no, I am not stoned on cold medication; why is everyone asking me that today?

@joeku: you are such a homophone.

  • len

Hmm. So if Joeku gives his opinion, he gets whacked. She is pale. Her smile is different. She isn’t the standard hooter-stuffed-with-silicone, mouth made over, the best beauty that modern science and a boatload of cash can provide. Her role as Vi was wooden. She made her own fame and is far from done.

    Word? Ok…

    Name: Fania Borach

    Baby Snooks was no Barbra.

  • Len, he isn’t getting whacked. However, there’s no reason at all to make negative comments on a persons appearance. I think that Felicia’s willingness to engage with her fans gives some people the mistaken impression that they’re friends of hers and can make personal remarks of that nature.

Anyone can give a stranger a compliment but to make personal remarks of a negative nature to someone they don’t really know is a little cheeky.

He said, “sheโ€™s probably not very attractive. Skinโ€™s too pale, nose too big, weird looking teeth etc.” that isn’t just an opinion and is rather unpleasant and personal. Exactly the sort of remarks that mindless Hollywood casting directors made to Miss Day for quite a while before she decided to forge her own path.

I think Felicia’s gorgeous and unreservedly so, I do not buy into the Hollywood version of beauty as the only yardstick. The beauty they push is a sterile and shallow one that needs to be challenged.

  • I’m a cougar already? Wow, I really thought I had a few more years until I got THAT. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Apparently 31 is the new 51? Does not compute. Great shoot, great interview. You look lovely (I appreciated the high heels wobble- I always do that).

  • Cougar?! Where did you get that idea from?

  • len

I agree with you, Philip. My point is singular looks can be very beautiful and looks-from-a-scalpel can be tres strange. On the other hand, she is pale. She is… singular. What Joeku doesn’t get is that’s good. Cut him a break; LOTS of folk don’t get that.

As to cougar, it’s a reference to a future (sorry FD, no offense intended). Right now, she is the last bowl of porridge: just right. But what happens to Felicia happens to Cyd. With her transition to glamorous, it becomes harder for her to portray the geeky awkward girl, the neverbloomer, as Sharon Hyman calls such. A Cyd who doesn’t make the transition or does too late will become a cougar.

I think it was Dorothy Parker who said after Fanny Brice had a nose job so she wouldn’t look quite as ethnic despite the fact that ethnicity was a big part of Brice’s act, “She did cut off her nose to spite her face.” Note that Streisand explicitly refused to do that. Funny Girl is fictionalized possibly because Ray Stark didn’t think the real story would work that well as a musical or in the zeitgeist.

Felicia is exactly the opposite. Her story is that she is offbeat with respect to the industry standards so to speak, and that means that industry is now out-of-sync with the times and the audience. Like some in the music industry who have much but want all they can take, they are rolling into the punch, spitting into the wind, so to speak. They’re losing.

She’s winning. Despite Vanity Faire, despite all those directors you talk about, Felicia’s winning. That’s part of the show, the story, the change. I hope she realizes that her success is not to be seen in the eyes of those folk because as she grows, she will always be the geek that beat them. And only a few of them will honor what that victory means to her audience. Nothing is meaner than stars who lose the starlight before they satisfy the need to see themselves reflected in it. FD on the other hand, is the classic triple threat: acts, sings, dances but more importantly, writes. When the flying spaghetti monster was giving out the meatballs, she kept getting back in line.

For all of us at any age who still whack at the mole, still pick up the axe and give it one more try, make their little videos and put them out there for the taking, for the sharing, she’s the Great Pale Hope. Just sayin’…

  • Roland Z. Hayes

Well, you are almost 1 billion seconds old, Felicia…

Better start lining up the boy toys; Justin Bieber should be around the correct age difference.

  • Roland Z. Hayes

Oh, gosh, it just occurred to me: With his 4.5M twitter followers and your 1.7M, you two could rule the Twitterverse.

    You’ll have to drive, though.

  • len

It’s the nose and the eyebrows. ๐Ÿ™‚

Twitterverse: context doesn’t matter. It has none.

  • len

On the other hand, she might not be bad as a cougar.

  • The easiest way to ditch the “cougar” label is to let yourself be chased by a “manther”.

    You. Me. Drinks. 8pm.

  • moe
  • Jeff

Am I the only person who thinks some of the comments on here got creepily off-target?

Unfortunately I can’t watch the video (My computer died so I am using my Kindle DX to access the Internet.), but the interview was interesting. I look foward to seeing what other projects you’re working on. I also can’t wait to catch up on The Guild episodes I’ve missed.

  • david ortiz

que dios la guarde siempre y le ayude en todos sus proyectos usted es genial

  • the comment about “nose too big, weird looking teeth” is funny

anyway, like the video. the Red hair looks really good.

  • Why won’t you people just leave Britney alone?! She’s a human!

    Er, I meant Felicia!

  • Andy

This should be no where near the edge of your comfort zone you crazy! ๐Ÿ™‚ But then I suppose that you looking a little bit nervous only adds to your completley endearing demeanour and cute features.

Lovely as always to see you being you (well as far as I’ve seen you in interviews and not you singing to Dr. Horrible…. ). It still baffles me how the likes of Victoria Beckham and Lady Gaga (questionably…. case of FBSF…… “Fit because she’s famous”) are held as the worlds sexiest and most talented women and someone like yourself is known mostly only to us who trundell around the net.

Looking forward to see what you continue to do over the coming months / years. If you’re ever in London or Kent UK and need a tour guide feel free to drop me an e-mail. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • i love this video, thanks for sharing!
