Episode 11 and Dollhouse

I have fallen into the trap of not blogging, just Twittering information again! Augh! Twitter is such a time sucker (in a good way!)

Never too late, wanted to post about The Guild Episode 11: Collision Course being posted this past week. I enjoy this episode SO MUCH! For me it’s one of the best, most consistently funny episodes and the cast definitely contributed a lot to that. Sandeep threw in a few improv lines that had me on the floor, the one about the mustard and “those are abs”. I love how Robin (Clara) picked up on that improv and went with it, 10x funnier! And Vork’s “Women…” line is the most quotable of the season. He’s brilliant.

The opening webcam was one of the first ideas I had for the season, I loved the idea of “breaking” the format, but not REALLY breaking it. Fernie (Wade) is such a good actor, I love the way he walks the line of being hunky and douchey at the same time, such a clever combo that few could pull off!

Next week is the season finale, I absolutely can’t believe it’s here so quickly! I have lived and breathed “Guild Season 2” for 6 months almost, and now I should start thinking of stories for Season 3. I think next week’s finale will spur me to start 🙂 BTW, I was thinking about having a live chat event next Tuesday night, try to get a few cast members involved, would anyone be interested in something like that? What service do you enjoy using, ustream, stickam etc?

Ok, I’m off to watch the premiere of Dollhouse! Supporting Joss and staff writers Maurissa and Jed and the cast is important because I know them, but honestly, I’m a sci-fi nerdette, so the show would have attracted me like honey had I NOT known anyone behind it. I am a Joss fangirl (don’t let him know, it would be awkward at parties 🙂 ). I know a bit about where the show is going, and it’s seriously amazing later in the season. Coincidentally I announced yesterday (after getting extra permission) that I’m Guest Starring in an episode, and I absolutely can’t wait for it to air. Such a different role than I’m used to 🙂 You’ll see!! More on that closer to the air date, for now, I hope it blows the ratings away!

  • I like that Idear. I thing you should use ustream. Can’t wait for the season final

  • Tim

Live chat with the cast would be awesome. Definitely tweet it out beforehand to keep us fans posted 🙂

  • Live chat please, yes and so exciting about the guest starring!

I’m just sitting here staring at the teevee – 15 minutes! – until the Nerdfecta™ of Terminator, Dollhouse, and BSG begins.

    I might have a nerdgasm.

  • Live Chat FTW!

And while I’m rather heartbroken that Season 2 has to end so soon, I absolutely cannot wait for the finale! Yeehaw!

  • Irvine

I love season Finale, that’s when everything that happened during the whole season goes into one whole thing. But still can’t wait for the third season! What will happen? Will we still see stunt-guy or not? Will Stupid-Tall-Hot-Girl will flirt with Zaboo, making Codex somehow super-jealous? Lol, it would be fun to see that actually! Will the Guild will be in peril? It will be a long wait to figure out I guess!

Also, I just saw the first episode of Dollhouse! Kinda an impressive show, and it must needs some strong acting skills from Dushku, considering the character she’s playing’s situation (I don’t want to spoil anything, for those who didn’t saw it yet)! Can’t wait to see you in it, too! 🙂 I’m sure you can’t tell us anything, but it worths asking: Will you be an ”Active”? 🙂

  • Episode 11 was awesome and I loved that kinda-breaking the format of the webcam intro thing. Brilliant! Started the episode with a O.O And yeah, Fernie was great in it!

Also, the mustard line and the “those are abs” line were great!! Cool to know it was Sandeep’s improv. =]

About a live chat… that would be great!
I think ustream is better… but I’ve only used stickam once, so… don’t know much about it.

And Dollhouse……. I’m currently downloading it (illegal, I know… but… but… I think Joss would forgive me, right? No Hulu, no Itunes… it’s the only way! =P) and I can’t wait to see it! It’s Joss + Eliza + Amy Acker + Tahmoh and…… you as guest in one episode!! It just keeps getting better and better even before I watch it! I hope you’re a guest in Tim’s episode (first cause he’s a brilliant writer, and second cause it’s gonna be a 2-hour episode, so… more Felicia! lol).

    Can’t wait to watch it!

  • Kikinak

Chat with the cast sounds like a great idea. I can’t use anything but Xbox Live Chat though.

    I missed Dollhouse 🙁

I’ll have to watch it ASAP on the computer I guess.

Please keep us informed on Season 3.

  • Dillon

Felicia you are absolutely fantastic and should let people know where to direct the fan mail, because to properly express how much I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve seen you in and how brilliant you are would take so much more than I could hope to include in a comment(I mean we are talking at least 4 to 5 paragraphs!)

  • I really enjoyed the latest episode! Had some GREAT one liners. The one about ‘he’s mining your ore’ (or something like that) cracked me up a lot.

Eeeee that’s so exciting that you’re gonna be on Dollhouse! Times like these I hate living in England and having to wait ages before they show stuff like that (if at all… they never actually showed Veronica Mars here on any of the free channels grr)

  • Ustream ftw.

  • Emily

One of the best eps. ever 🙂 I came to the series late and am now jonesing for season 3 (so start those soon 🙂

live chat would be awesome 🙂

I liked Dollhouse but I like all/everything Joss does. Hopefully Fox gives it a chance (hello, Firefly anyone??)

LOVE YOU FELICIA 🙂 you rock

  • Gamercow

Episode 11 was excellent, lots of great lines! I saw Dollhouse as well, and its interesting, but I think it needs some time to really pull me in.

Oh, and I just saw you on the Sears commercial! Brilliant! I literally said “Yay, more work for Felicia!”

  • It practically goes without saying that I’m excited about the Guild, Dollhouse, and everything that’s going on with you right now. The season has rocked my socks, I can’t wait to see what happens with the Zaboo/Fergie faceoff. You know, part of me hopes Zaboo wins, there seem to be a lot of people on chat who want him to take a hit. Maybe both are possible (he takes a hit, but gets up and wins!)

I’m glad that Joss is challenging you with a departure role — that is what he does to actors, it seems — brings out the best by letting them know what is possible. And I’m not biased, really! Heh.

Tuesday night you know I’ll be there, barring parental duties or unexpected apocalypses.

  • Felicia, this is my favorite episode yet! Those are ABS! 🙂 I can’t wait to see the next episode!

  • Just my luck, Tuesday. My wife and I will be in Vegas seeing Cris Angel’s Cirque du Soleil show for her birthday. So, alas I will have to skip this one. We can’t wait for the finale!

  • WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Codex got to snog hot guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 But now he is gonna pummel poor Zaboo into mush. thats gotta ruin things between em. so sad! 😀

and damn – a webchat would be cool but knowing my luck it would be on when i was at work or something so i would end up missing it! (i live in australia)

and i soooooo wanna watch Dollhouse. have not taken steps to acquire it illegally as yet. would feel bad doing so. i like to support His Jossiness.

  • Live chat…probably good. The “Imaginary Bitches” crew tried it out, and it was nice, but kinda derailed when people kept asking about unrelated projects and making vulgar suggestions. If you can control it a little better than they did, it could be fun.

Improv…I think, when the Baker’s Dozens of fans congregate at WatchTheGuildCon in the future, this will probably be the beloved episode where the series hit its stride. I’m not sure how much I cared about all the side drama, but that’s merely my opinion, and it was still great to see the threads come together and the cast really working together.

Fernie’s also a great addition, I think. He’s talented himself, obviously, but everybody seems to turn in better performances when interacting with him. I don’t know if that’s the script, chemistry, or both, but it’s working.

Dollhouse…fun, but the pilot seemed a little clunky, and I’m not sure how long you can sustain a show like that. On the other hand, I’m pretty sure that I said exactly the same thing about “Firefly,” “Angel,” and “Buffy.” Maybe I just don’t like it when Joss writes a pilot.

Looking forward to see where they integrate you into the storyline, regardless.

  • Wildride Robert Roy

I was wondering how long it would take for Joss to get you on Dollhouse. Not long apparently, so that’s of the good.

How about for season three you have something with your gay ex and a large dog. No, wait, I was thinking of something else. 🙂

  • Episode 11 was truly fantastic! Would definately be up for some online chatting with the crew.

  • Episode 11 is brilliant and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for the finale! Wade and Tall Hot Girl have been very welcome additions to this season and the interview with Michele on the ‘Knights of The Guild’ podcast ( is great 🙂

I’n glad you are blogging more – I must remember to get rid our your old RSS feed because this site has a different one (hint to anyone who subscribed before – make sure you get the new RSS and you won’t miss any posts!).

And a live chat with you for the Finale – sounds great! Ustream is pretty good and you can use video with that, too, which is always good (I have a spare comb if you need one 🙂 ). Whichever one you choose please give us notice via here and Twitter (and the Community site, maybe?) so that people can get registered ahead of time.

I hope you are inspired to get the writing for Season 3 underway soon – the sooner you start to write, the quicker we get to watch it!

  • Bel-Rand

    Season finale..
    Live Chat..
    Dollhouse Premiere..
    Guest Star…

*Bel-Rands house explodes since so much awesomeness can not be contained within one single building*

  • Heheh… I think I am going to make this mandatory viewing for our guild on that MMO you don’t mention. I got to see your creation this weekend, and haven’t laughed this hard for as long as I can remember. Mayhaps your oldest fan (at 1/2 century). Keep em coming…….

  • Linnea1928

    Hey Felicia,
Loved ep 11, adn the whole series in general. I’m fighting between 2 emotions: I can’t wait for the season finale and I’m bummed the season is finale-ing so soon! I need my Guild fix!
I liked the premiere of Dollhouse and can’t wait to see more.
I’m psyched you are going to be on it (I love when my geekdoms collide). I’m excited to see you tackle this difficult role, since Joss described it (during his question-answer time on as: “A tough yet tender freedom-fighter in a post-apocalyptic future, DUH.” LOL, good luck with that. (PS it was my question, how excited am I he at least pretended to answer it?)
(But seriousfully, when you can, please spill on what your role really is! Inquiring minds want to know!)

  • Maxwell

Dollhouse baby! This is super exciting. I loved the premiere, already thinking about how you will fit into a story on this show. SO EXCITED for you and Joss to be reunited another time.

  • Tin Ear Tom

Felicia, I am SO out of your target demo for “The Guild” – and yet, I can’t NOT watch it. And yeah, I think what you and your company have been doing this season is amazing. Great narrative drive, noticeably improved production values, and the same sharp writing that was always there. I’m not a gamer, but my oldest daughter – and most of her friends – are WOW fiends. When they talk amongst themselves about the game, it sounds exactly like the game-specific portions of “The Guild.”

I came to this party via the circuitous Whedon route. So a guest appie on “Dollhouse” makes me sing with joy. And man, the neighbors are pissed about that.

  • Zac

Felicia, loved “Collision Course!” You guys have developed such a rapport that is really evident in every episode. (Yeah alliteration! Or is it assonance?) It really makes it so much fun to watch.

I missed Dollhouse but will have to keep an eye out for your guest appearance! That’s very exciting.

Best of luck to you in everything you do here in the future.

  • Hi Felicia,

Just wanted to say that i love the guild, and loved this episode..just Brilliant.
So hope you can all make more episodes. (wouldn’t it be funny if the guild would try another mmporg with vork freaking out lol)

So tons of thanks and keep up the good work 🙂

Enjoy the “Guild”. An idea – Do interviews with non-gamers. Have them view a segment (e.g. one of the christmas clips), then ask them what do they think it meant. I think it would be hilarious to hear what a non-gamer would think it meant.
    Keep up the great work!

  • Episode 11 is by far my favorite you’ve done so far. Consistently funny throughout and suspenseful, and I love the break in format. If you could play around with that even more, I would love it.

Dollhouse is seriously intriguing me, I hope your guest spot is something new and exciting, or Violet, and that there’s a possibility of coming back for follow-ups or something.

  • Meg B

I loved Episode 11! Poor Zaboo, though 🙁 He’s so pathetic I can’t help but feel a little bad for him… Its nice that the episodes are a little longer this season though– I’m still left wanting more!

Dollhouse is already amazing, so Dollhouse+You=Best Thing Ever. I can do math!

  • Wow. Props on usage of the word “nerdette.” It gives me delightfully Smurf related images.

  • Joe Hvezda

    Hi Felicia!

Okay- it seems I have so much catching up to do compared to all of these people already here and familiar with you! Truth is, I caught you for a grand total of maybe 30 seconds on TV and happened to be sitting at my computer. A general search leads to here, leads to twitter (I’m following) which led me back here to read your blog.

I just wanted to say-very cool. I’ve really enjoyed the romp through your website. You’re quirky, funny and enjoyable. Thanks!
