I just realized this morning that I hadn’t updated in a while.ย  The reason being, I haven’t had a chance to breathe in a while! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Ever since we got back from Seattle, it’s been non-stop pre-production for Season 2 Guild.ย  We are STILL unfunded, have a few prospects, but we are going ahead on low-budget for now, seeing how things shake out in the next week or so.ย  I didn’t want to put the PayPal button up for donations on the off-chance we got a sponsor on board in the next few weeks and then had to give back the money, etc.ย  It’s all a big waiting game in this web video business ๐Ÿ™‚ย  The only thing I have control of is actually getting the scripts done and shooting, and that’s what we’ve done!ย  Mantra:ย  Don’t wait for other people to make things happen.

Anyway, if you follow The Guild website you’ll know that the cast will be at Blizzcon Oct 10th and 11th, we’re thrilled to participate!ย  We will be doing a panel and previewing Season 2 exclusively, so it’s exciting all around.

Also, they’ve posted a few preview clips of my episode of House on Fox’s webpage. I’m in clips #1 and #4, definitely was hired for my awesome looks for this episode (haha).ย  Hugh Laurie was so amazing to work with, I can’t wait to watch the whole episode.ย  It’s next Tuesday the 23rd, so set your Tivos!ย  If you want, you don’t have to ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyway, back to coordinating crew and finishing scripts and working on website stuff and emails!ย  I’ve read a lot of books in the last few weeks, only thing that’s kept me sane is bedtime reading, so I’m looking forward to a chance to review some stuff!

Oh also, evidently I’m in Geek Monthly this month, WOOT!ย  Sarah Kuhn, the writer of that article, also has a cool .pdf Geek Zine called “Alert Nerd” that has a blurb on me on page 18 too about my early gaming habits.ย  Cool!

  • Congrats on House! I watch the show all the time, so I’ll definitely catch it.

I found your site and The Guild after catching Dr. Horrible. It’s all great work. Good luck on season 2 of The Guild!

Hello! I hope you don’t find it terribly creepy for someone you don’t know to reply to your blog, but I came upon you while checking Google for Hugh Laurie-related news and blog postings! I just want to say a few things, and then I’ll get out of your hair!

Congratulations on the House gig! I’ve been a devout fan of the show for years, and they have a tremendous record of getting fantastic actors in guest roles, so you should be (and I hope you already are!) extremely proud of yourself!

This is selfish, I know, but can you expound at all upon that “Hugh Laurie was so amazing to work with” teaser? No pressure! I just can’t imagine what it’d be like to act opposite someone who brings a character like that to life so powerfully and richly, and whenever someone discusses working with him, I can’t help but find it fascinating.

Thanks for your time! Take care and best of luck in your future endeavors!

  • Just keep saying to yourself….”clear blue ocean, clear blue ocean” go to your happy place and know that all your fans adore you.
BTW, how many cups of choc pudding did you have to eat for that take?
    HUGS

Hi! I too found this blog after seeing you on Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, although I do remember you from Monk and, of course, Vi on Buffy (of which I caught a rerun of the finale the other day, and couldn’t help but think that you’d make an amazing action actress).

Can’t wait to see you on House, one of my favorite shows. Looking forward to the second season of the Guild too, hope it won’t be as overly clichรฉd as the last season – I thought some of the characterization was just too over the top (especially the mum). And please, no more special effects! The normal acting and plot was so much better than those things!

Read a funny Buffy story the other day where your character, Vi, is some tough as nails gunslinger/slayer. Funny to picture you like that.

  • It’s so cool to see so many projects in the works (and coming to fruition!). Best of luck with season two of The Guild…I can’t wait!

  • Can’t see the clips in Australia. Stupid copyright. But by the still frame, it looks like you ailment involves an octopus growing out of your head?
    Not lupus?

  • If you put up a PayPal button. I’d donate in a heartbeat. That said, I hope you do get funding. You deserve it. I look forward to season two.

Also, more book reviews please! I read Joe Abercrombie’s First Law trilogy based on your review and I thoroughly enjoyed it, the third book especially. It is one of the best conclusions to a series I’ve read, but then again, I sort of have a thing for cynical and nihilist storytelling. I haven’t read a good fantasy series in a LONG time; thought I’d just about exhausted the best of the genre. Glad to see I was wrong.

  • Dani

    Yeyyy! New blog!

I’ll catch House when it airs here in Brazil (probably one or two months after… I don’t really know how’s the delay for House, ’cause I don’t watch it), maybe that’s going to be my motivation to finally start watching it! (it’s on my ‘to watch’ list for a while…)

  • Maggie

Congrats on the House episode – I think you’re great in the two clips they posted. I’ll be sure to tune in. ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope funding will turn up for The Guild – I really enjoyed the first season. I’m glad Dr. Horrible led me to your other projects – it’s nice to find a fellow geek girl. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Looking forward to House even moreso than usual. And can’t wait for more The Guild! I’d definitely be game for donating a few bucks toward it, so don’t be too shy about soliciting (right, because I, some random commenter, is the deciding vote). I’ll also join in the call for more book reviews.

  • Grats on getting stuff done on the Guild S2 and an early one for getting to 70 before Blizzcon ๐Ÿ˜‰

Speaking of fantasy novels have you read Conan? I’m actually just sitting down to it and come to find out Robert E. Howard was kinda nuts. Like thought Conan was there dictating the story with a blade at his neck kinda… nuts. Anyway, the stories are actually really good! I need to jump on some of the stuff you’ve read and put up reviews for.

  • Cyn

I saw you on the preview for House (having forgotten you were on there) and was all “Hey, it’s Felicia Day!” Can’t wait to see the episode!

  • Glad to hear things are going so well! Sandeep Tweeted that the script is even better than Season 1, not that anyone doubted otherwise ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope you saw the TV Week review of the top 10 web creators http://doctorhorrible.net/tvweek-10-web-video-creators/349/ . Just proves that all the heartache is really worth it. Honest.

Miss day you must check out kevin Pereira he is a pretty cool guy. Go check him out at http://www.kevinpereira.com

  • Kuinsi

I’ll see you on House when season 5 arrives to Spain. Best of luck for season 2 of The Guild (I can hardly wait for it T___T). You know? Sometimes is better having a lot of things to do, time goes by faster (^^,).

As Maggie says, It’s really cool to find fellow geek girls!!!

  • alex

    Gratz for all your work.

BTW: I heard you are playing WoW again ?…. …

  • John

Don’t be so sarcastic about how you look. I happen to think the rainbow techno-dreds look fine. OK, I got nothin’. I don’t watch “House.”

On the other hand, I’m glad that you decided to forge ahead without “big” funding, and will, among many other viewers, still be happy to donate if the button comes back. Otherwise, good luck with it–breath is appropriately bated–and the convention.

  • Q

The economy sucks and I’m broke, but if you start taking PayPal donations, I’ll scrape something together. Can’t risk the possibility of Season 2 not happening, yo.

  • Linnea1928

Thanks for keeping us updated, Felicia!
Of course I am SO excited to see you on House; those clips are so amazing!
Also, can’t wait for seasons 2 of the Guild!
    Keep up the great work!

  • Aww, too bad BlizzCon is sold out! I hope you and the gang have a great time there though. ๐Ÿ™‚ Looking forward to Season 2!

  • October 10th is my birthday and I can’t even see you guys at Blizzcon. It’s definitely my worst birthday ever! LOL

However, I am looking forward to seeing the new episode of House and, of course, the new episodes of The Guild.

I guess those will just have to suffice as decent presents on my sucky, sucky, sucky, sucky, sucky, sucky, sucky, sucky birthday. As they say, “Why, son, a birthday without The Guild at Blizzcon is no birthday at all!”

    Balls.

  • Very proud of you for upholding the standard of The Right Sponsor or No Sponsor at All! (And the preview clips for House = awesomost!)

  • Felicia, I think I have a proposition for you to get some funding for your next season of The Guild!! I am PR & Press Advisor for a start up called My Fabulous Mentor. Please email me and I will give you some ideas that we may be able to collaborate on. Thanks! I look forward to speaking with you…. now get some sleep. ๐Ÿ™‚

Aww man, the one Blizzcon I miss and you are gonna be there.I wonder what the karma gods got me for this time?

  • Efehan

    Hi Ms. Felicia Day!

*sigh* I just tried sending an e-mail through your Guild volunteer form, but it also failed, telling me something about blocked referrers? I have tried sending a couple of regular e-mails, too, but each returns with vague ‘it maaaayy not work … ‘ messages ๐Ÿ™ So! I am geared to offer my collection of post-production, frame-by-frame animation, and general special-fx/compositing help, and unsure if any single offer has gotten through, yet.

I think its destined, at this point, that you shall never read a message from me, though, so this’ll be my last until I hear anything back. If you have any time for it, could you could take a glance and see if anything I sent got through?

(My hopes were to perhaps, if it hasn’t already been inspired, to inspire the possibility of a bit of nicely-animated and well-integrated “in-game” animation possibilities!)

And naturally, I’ll probably get shoo’d since you’ve most likely filled the role. And that would be totally cool, since at least I would know me and the Internet were friends again.

Anyways, thank you for (again?) your time, and best of luck with everything. Its a truly lovely series,

    – Efehan

  • Ed R

A Lee Martinez for the reading.

  • Josef

I saw somw of the new previews for the House episode. Its a very sad thing to see you without hair. Can’t wait to watch the episode, it should be great. Well, extra-great, since HOuse is pretty good as i is, and House with Felicia Day can only be awesome.

  • @Efehan Just sent you a direct email regarding issues emailing The Guild and/or Felicia.

  • great episode felicia ๐Ÿ™‚

(question, what equation were you writing on the board?)

  • Grahame

Wanted to echo the countless congratulations on the episode of House. I was really excited to see you on one of my favorite shows as well! Honestly, though, I feel like they could have–and maybe should have–done more with your character; not that I’m an expert on such matters…

Whose idea was the name Apple, though?

Thanks for doing it! Good luck with Season 2, as well.

  • chuckley
