Hee hee, I admit I sort of love the fact that you love the "Cast" series for the sort of strange connection both you and that series have to Buffy and Joss Wheadon shows. ;) The "Cast" series is, as per the introduction, born of Michelle Sagara's love of Buffy and Firefly and her desire to write something episodic like those shows. She talks not infrequently of her love of those shows on her blog. I have to assume she'd get a kick out of knowing you enjoy her books.

But hey, only 114 days til Cast in Silence! Not that, er, I'm keeping track or anything. At all.

Thank you, Felicia! (blushes at the "brilliant" comment)

Anne, I'm so glad you enjoyed my books! And you won't be bereft for much longer -- only a little longer until April 28 and The Trouble with Demons.

Felicia, I was trying to recommend a book or three here, but my comments keep disappearing. If they're going to some sort of site admin purgatory while you go thru them, sorry for spamming. =/

Your taste in books is top-notch, ma'am. A redhead that likes Zelazny? Wish you had a sister. ;)

Here's something that's definitely on-topic, though (and by the way, your taste in books is kickass). I didn't see these listed here, but you may want to take a look at...

Bernard Cornwell's "The Warlord Chronicles" (The Winter King, Enemy of God, Excalibur). They're pretty well done, though they're more "historical fiction" than fantasy. There's a nice love story in there, and his take on Lancelot and Merlin alone make them worth reading. Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Warlord_Chronicles

The other recommendation I can make off the top of my head would be "Hyperion" and "Fall of Hyperion" by Dan Simmons. They're a sci-fi take on "The Canterbury Tales", but a bit darker (kinda like what you'd get if William Gibson and Neil Gaiman had collaborated on them). Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperion_Cantos

I'm a Johnny-come-lately to your work, but I've greatly enjoyed "The Guild" and "Dr. Horrible" (omg... those songs are like CRACK!). Greatly looking forward to season 2.

Do you read any webcomics at all, Felicia?

Phil and Kaja Folio have one called "Girl Genius Online" that's pretty funny.

http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/

Sorry if that's off-topic... It's something that can be read, though, so I hope it fits. =)
