A FEW LINKS!
I’ve been terribly busy and really working on the Guild Season 4 script (we are still working out the contract and don’t have shoot dates or release dates yet, but be patient, it’s all in the works!) but I’ve done a few things I’d like to draw your attention to. Or just compile here so I can get it off my check-list, hehe.
Comic Book Resources has the first 6 pages of The Guild #1 Comic posted. Don’t click if you don’t want spoilers!
You can pre-order all three issues many places, including TFAW, and if you have a local store, please call before March 4th because that’s the cutoff date to order copies for stores, and some people might not automatically carry it because it’s new. I appreciate it!
I was interviewed on Attack of the Show today about The Guild Season 3 DVD we’re releasing through CreateSpace, always nice to stop by that set. Talked a little about the comic as well, and Mass Effect 2 (getting in characters pants mostly, hehe).
Also Part 2 of “How to Make a Codex Staff” was posted Monday by master craftsman and artist Greg Aranowitz on his blog. And yes, that screaming is for real. I was terrified of the dremel. One more installment is left!
I have some other things that are upcoming, but I’m pretty locked down in writing mode now, so I’ll touch on those later, including book reviews!

While I liked seeing the interview, I really wanted to say: I love those shoes you’re wearing. They are super cute.
(And grats on the priest. I’m a little afraid to start one, because my hunter was just too easy…)
Lol, I was just about to say the same thing, I loved those shoes!
I clicked on comments to complement those rocking shoes. Looks like that’s already been covered
Yeah…girly moment here too. LOVE the shoes!
Holy wow, yes, I had to comment on that as well! Now I want to know where I can find me a pair like those
Lol, enjoyed watching the interview and I look forward to the comics/Guild Season 4.
I was however wondering, if you had posted the scripts for previous Guild seasons anywhere for fans to read?
Just called my local comic book store (Brave New Worlds-Philadelphia), and the guy who answered happily informed me that they’ll be getting “a lot” of them. YAY. Can’t wait.
Spent the better part of yesterday reading this blog…thanks for the new obsession.
P.S. Those shoes are haWt, and you rule.
Thank you so much Raven! And thanks for the shoe compliment. I actually got those off a shoot, I never would have been brave enough to try them on in the store, but they’re super cute and comfortable AND racy! Who knew!
I must say i don’t get the shoe comments i mean they are pink.
It is like Indian is walking through the desert he finds a gun and he is happy.
(you know like he can now defend against coyotes, vultures, and puncture
a hole in cactus and drink the cactus stuff)
Anyhow Felicia you are girl shoes are pink ergo all is well;)
I would rather say that you all around look great;)
Greeting from Croatia land of too handsome guys that it should be banned.
Create Space sounds very cool I’ll have to check it out. @wiw has been talking about The Guild for some time now. I just watched Season 1 on Netflix. Great stuff Felicia Day Fan count +2 (my brother and I) Do you know if Netflix will be getting Season 3?
Keep up the great work!
Netflix wont be getting season 3 for a while. The DVD is out though, and you can view it streaming and on Xbox for now
lovez it! would love to have you on our show when it releases to chat about it.
nice interview,
now I want to play ME2 even more than before
damn you
and I´m wainting for the Guild comic
Good job focusing on the interview while your sleeves were attacking your hands. I hope you rolled them up but good to teach them a lesson when the piece was over. Also that Create Space thing sounds cool. I have no talents but I will let you all know when I release my DVD of “Scaring people when they go in my kitchen”.
Damn I need better ideas.
Loved the interview with you on Attack of the Show, especially the gaming part
Thane is the bees knees.
So knowing nothing about Mass Effect 2 I’m guessing it’s a love-in game where avatars meet, party and then… fool around?
Okay, I just checked wikipedia and that’s not quite right. ;->
So in the future, your avatar goes to the audition and the prick at the table says, “guys don’t want to shag her” and you pull out the logs from the game and say, “I beg your pardon but they certainly do.”
Times and trends….
Loved the interview. Thanks for sharing it. I haven’t had the pleasure of ME2 yet. I’m still loving Dragon Age — ME2 is in the wings though! I will be strong and not sneak a peek at the comic…. I think
What an awesome interview! You really come across well….though I suspect you already know that. I love Mass Effect 2 and funnily enough Thane Krios is my favourite character…in a manly not even remotely sexual way…seriously! He’s a fascinating character.
Anyhoo, I’ve ordered season 3 on DVD and I’m patiently awaiting its arrival over in the UK. Here’s hoping it ain’t region specific like you said. Can’t wait.
…As for lizard appendages, okay I’ll admit it. I’m curious. Should I watch this space?
I received the Guild season 3 DVD set this morning! Sat straight down to watch all the extras, great stuff!
If anyone hasn’t yet bought the DVD, what are you waiting for, a gilt edged invitation?! …Felicia, any chance of a gilt edged invitation?
Great interview!
Heehee…as soon as I turned ME2 on a bunch of friends that were over literally would not let me do anything until I hit on my secretary. Not gunna lie, I totally have a thing for broody Jacob! If he’s bangable, I am so going for it. XD Gunna try to get to his loyalty mission today.
I’m going to have to echo the cute shoes comments! They are really hot! I might have to scour the internet to see if I can spot anything similar.
YES. Kelly the Assistant! She’s an inappropriate hugger that one.
holy crap…youre like bizarro me. born the same year, went to the same college, majored in the same subject, and play the same instrument. except youre a cool, female actress and im a nerdy, male engineer. bizarre.
I just saw that you’re coming to the Sydney and Perth Supanovas, but why not the Melbourne one? We’d love for you to come to it.
Are you sure you didn’t create The Guild just so you would be able to write off your gaming expenses?
Did AOTS offer you another opportunity to cohost again?
Great interview on ATOS! Looking forward to getting Season 3. I’m a big Thane fan on ME2 also, i think its his voice, i spent a lot of time repeating the conversations just to hear him speak to me – good luck with the hookup
BTW – My husband and I just watched Season 1 and 2 of the guild on Netflix this past week and loved it. I wish we had gotten into it sooner, everything is so spot on.
Keep up the great work, you rock!
Love these off the wall interviews that get into discussions of who you’re trying to bed in Mass Effect, heh.
On a side note, was very surprised to see a dedicated DVD for the extras. I don’t recall that for S1/S2… I need to go check. But awesome job on the printing. But the case they used is a little… not so closeable. I can look right through the cracks to the other side, heh.
Here’s to Season 4 and beyond!
Felicia, this is one of my favorite interviews! It’s so adorable and funny. And those shoes are hot!
I got my Guild Season 3 DVD earlier this week, and it looks like I’ll have to get all 6 comic books…. they’re so awesome!
I just heard the latest about Andrew Koenig. I understand you knew him through improv. I am very sorry. My thoughts and best wishes go out to his family. I had really hoped it would end with better news.
(Sorry I didn’t know where else to post this, I figured the most recent post is the best)
Nice interview – I like the wavy fingures and the travelling peace sign.
Liked the interview the guy interviewing you is cute… and so are you.
yoga dvd for beginners
I saw your interview on G4 Attack of the Show (Thank God for AFN out here…or else no american shows for me..lol)….. I must admit I’ve been in Iraq for a couple years and had no clue about “The Guild”. But I went on the wiki after seeing you on G4 and was like I gotta see this! I’m glad its on Amazon…I’m gonna order all three seasons to watch while I’m chilling on R&R next month.
Keep up the good work Felicia!
One word for The Guild Season 4: Giant Dog! Seriously, Codex+big dog=hilarity. I’m just sayin’.
I’m so glad the comic is an origin story and not a retelling of the series. I feel like we’re getting something new and awesome.
You looked so cute for your interview. I love your shoes!!! Could you please share what brand they are? My net-fu is weak and I can’t find them online.
Hi Felicia! My husband and I absolutely LOVE “The Guild” and I just had to share this with you. Our 7-month old son is apparently a big fan too. We started watching the video of “Date My Avatar” and he went from being fussy to being completely mesmerized. There’s a link on my blog if you want to check it out. Sorry about the video quality; had to capture it quickly so I did it with my cellphone.
That Is Adorable!
Interesting. If one is to believe CNet, the new cool is bands that refuse to tweet and the death of virtual world games (eg, WoW) in favor of casual games.
Is The Guild yesterday’s party? Geek chic is dead.
No.
As There.com shutters it’s servers while FB games are skyrocketing and Linden is migrating to more corporate applications, there are non-conflicting theories:
1. Casual gaming is asynchronous and that fits the daily schedule of most people. Even The Guild scripts reflect the obsessive and slightly dysfunctional stereotypes of committed gamers.
2. Content matters. The majority of the population weren’t D&D players, aren’t that into Fantasy games, and
3. Style of engagement matters. Apparently shooting, leveling, modding etc., don’t actually appeal to the mainstream. They reject the level of commitment required of a serious gamer or even a virtual worlder. Usually expressed as “I have a first life. Why do I need a Second Life?” On the other hand, the short asynchronous bursty style of texting in Facebook that enables people to reconnect with decades of personal network connections, but keeps it at a distance, light and able to share real information about their real life does.
IOW, geek chic is most certainly dead. It doesn’t mean much to the geek subculture. It probably means something to those who latched onto geek flags the same way once upon a time everyone wore flowers in their hair and the counter-culture became the over-the-counter culture.
It doesn’t mean The Guild is or should be over. It may mean it’s peaked in terms of broader appeal.
If you get that excited over a dremel, how do you feel about 3/8″ drills.. or maybe a chainsaw?
Haha, a sexed up interview. Who’d have thought, huh?
Handled with class as usual.
Hooray for the Guild S3 exposure and hooray for the Amazon independent artist plug!
Chris
?? ?????? ? ???????, ???? ???????????!
From Russia with love
I have to agree with the compliments on the outfit including the shoes–faaaabulous!
Also, you’re adorable. I love watching your interviews! <3
You should do more assist How To vids. Informative, funny and entertaining watching you work.
So, I just read those comic previews, and wow, I’m really exicted. i’m a fan of Dark Horse Comics, the guild and you so it’s a pretty win-win situation!
and I’m going to Comicon San Diego, I hope to see you there!
Ps. I really Loved those shoes
Hey Felicia! I’m new to your site but not to your work. I’m a fan of a lot of Joss Whedon’s works. I follow Nathan through Firefly, Serenity, Castle and even the Halo games (cuz I know he was a big part of ODST). Dr. Horrible is my all time favorite musical and when I audition for things I tend to use My Eyes or My Freeze Ray. I love the Guild and I wish I could do what you do.
I’m finishing college to get my Media Communications Degree and as I think about what I want to do, I envy you because quite frankly, you are doing EXACTLY what I want to do. My big dream is to make movies or be part of the music, tv or radio industry in some way. Sadly I’m way out in Wisconsin so nothing movie-wise comes out this way. The last thing that did was Public Enemies where I got to shake hands with Depp and Bale in Monroe.
Do you have any advice for a guy like me, who wishes and waits to get his chance to do the things I want to do in life to make my dreams come true?
Any feedback would be absolutely awesome.
Upset the status qua!
Thanks,
~Timm
Well i must say i don’t get it.
I mean I rearrange ‘Do you wanna date my avatar’ in a perfectly nice
way and it is now geeky love song.
And still i don’t get through to Felicia.
Hmm where is this world going to when like handsome dark haired funny guy
writes a beautiful lyrics and it can’t touch the heart of this damsel.
What could I do more I don’t really know;)
I already love this comic (and yay for red-heads! [or red-beard in my case..]). I’m just hoping the Swedish comic-book stores will pick up on it quickly…
Felicia,
I’m a huge fan of all your work — I’ve even seen you as the Fairy in Legend of Neil — and I’m very excited that you’re joining my world (I’ve written Batman and had my own nationally syndicated comic strip called Mail Order Ninja) by bringing the Guild into the comic realm.
I’d also like to share something that you might find interesting — I’m the founder of an educational non-profit called Reading With Pictures that promotes literacy and the visual arts through the use of comics in the classroom. I figured that this might be something right up your alley. You can find out more about us at http://www.readingwithpictures.org and please feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions.
Thanks! And can’t wait to read the book!
HI Barad it is Felicia
Just noticed The Guild is streaming on NetFlix. Came up in my Recommend List for New TV shows. Will be nice when the main stream finds a category other than TV to place this type of show. Anyway, back to streaming some content.
Hahaha well this alter ego of mine i really didn’t know that there are 2 barads
here.
But m8 whoever you are with this ‘Hi Barad it is Felicia’ you actually put a
big smile on my face. I totally respect a good joke.
Because if i can’t have real Felicia I guess that fake Barad will do, just
put a red wig on your head I’ll kill 4-5 beers, and will have a blast.
Bad Felicia…. No WOW for you…
Not updating your blog about doing a SyFy movie RED, where you continue your action stariness.
I mean if you don’t update your blog how are all your fan boys and girls, suppose to know where to see you shoot stuff and make with the explody.
PLEASE! I know you must be so busy and probably never read these but my best friend is a huge fan of yours and his birthday is March 30th. I want to do something really special for him, and an autographed picture with a personal comment would floor him! I would give my left arm if you would be so kind as to even have your publicist, lol, just set him up with a pic, anything! I even don’t mind being this pathetic publicly because I can’t find any other way to ask! *Crosses fingers* Please please please please please!
Congrats on 80.
Please get that next Guild season out. I’m feeling somewhat starved for video entertainment. (Am I the only one who finds The Guild more entertaining than e.g. Avatar?)
I believe Marvel missed the boat putting together an Avengers cast without Felicia Day as The Wasp.
Felicia,
I randomly stumbled onto “The Guild” after watching your lovely “Date My Avatar” video and becoming completely addicted. I’m typically a PS person (all FF, all the time), so I’ve never come across The Guild before, but when I did – boy was I addicted! I sat there and watched the first two seasons on youtube right then and there! I’m hoping one of my friends snagged me season 3 for my birthday, we’ll see.
I think you are a real inspiration and its wonderful to see how you’ve maintained complete control over The Guild. I look forward to everything you do with this in the future. A friend of mine works at a comic book store and I’m going to have him look into acquiring The Guild when there is another opportunity if he didn’t already.
I have an 80 Hunter myself and I’m currently leveling a mage and a Holy Pally, 12 and 42 respectively as of last night. I have no shame in admitting that I rolled Horde (though I do have a low lvl Nelf I started out with during my trail account days!), though its completely disappointing we’re not on the same side
Congrats on your priest! I don’t know if I’d have the patience to level one after the easy time I had with my Hunter.
I love seeing a successful woman as into gaming and fantasy/scifi as I am. Speaking of which, though they’re definitely more in the Fantasy genre, I would recommend The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind and the Gunslinger series by Stephen King.
Lots of luck in your future endeavors!
P.S. I adored your shoes and would be interested in knowing the brand! I’m a shoe fanatic, myself.
I don’t know the brand of the shoes, I was given them from wardobe for the E3 Xbox announcement (they let me KEEP them, awesome of them!!) I will check when I’m back in LA!
This is a little bit off-topic, but it is a link I think you’ll enjoy! Incredibly random music video from a band called Hot Chip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaCZN2N6Q_I Also the guy who did Shut Up Woman, Get On My Horse did another catchy looped tune, not as good as the previous though! http://www.weebls-stuff.com/songs/Anything+Kosher/
omg who yelles at you and called you a wh*re?! tha wasn’t nice D: i <3 btw, you're adorable and very awesome in The Guild
*big hugs*
yelled* my bad, spelling’s not my forte
you just made me attempt to play mass effect 2, but i am on a Mac and have a PS3
