Aftermath

Wow! So, Dr. Horrible, all three parts are streaming now, and people are so passionate about it! (Especially the ending ;) ) I can’t tell you how exciting a process this has been, the filming, the singing, the launching…it’s been such a thrill! My aunt, who runs a children’s theatre in Madison, Ala, said that her students were walking around singing, “On the Rise” all day. So cool. And I’m not one to be giddy about press, but I did geek out when, on the way home from filming a commercial yesterday, I was listening to NPR (as usual) and theyran a story on the show. I flipped out!! Hearing Linda Slidell say my name was a thrill beyond compare.

Anyway, now that the streaming is over, the Comicon push is looming on the horizon, and man is it a lot to juggle! Friday is pretty much all day Horrible: Panel, signing, late screening and press in between. I’ve never been to Comicon so I have no idea what to expect, but I know it’s gonna be everything I can’t prepare myself for, so I’m vowing to just “go with the flow”.

On top of being an actor though, I’m a producer, which adds a layer of stress/fun to it all. The whole cast of “The Guild” will be signing and greeting fans for an hour or two each day in the Browncoat both. Please check The Guild website for the specific times. We’ll be selling the DVD out of the booth the whole time and signing during the designated hours. I’ll be there for most of the slots I believe, but the other cast will be there covering if I’m not, so please stop by and say hi, they would love it! It’s very exciting to have them meet fans of the show, because they don’t interact online with them like I do, so it will be a big thrill to have people recognize them :)

I know to bring snacks, comfortable shoes and hand sanitizer (I get colds easily) but if you have any other tips, please post them here! Also, if anyone sees any fantasy author signings I may have missed, alert me to them! I intend to be a fan there also :)

This Place Looks Better!

Thanks to Edgar Garcia, the website is now dusted off and almost ready to go into the Beta phase. I could not have done all the heavy lifting without you, thanks dear!

It’s been hard to let go of all the widgets in the sidebar, but the more I think about adding stuff, the more reluctant I am to do it. Do I need to have a widget for every single service I belong to? Probably not. So I switched to a FriendFeed widget. Friendfeed is a great service that aggregates all your social networking activities into one place. I admit, when I first joined (I got the handle “Felicia” I was so early on, hehe) I was not convinced. It’s not that pretty a service and I didn’t really see the functionality of it. But as a way to concentrate everything I’m doing, what I’m reading and music I’m listening to and Twitters I’m…tweeting, it’s a great place to keep a hold on it all. Also, when people comment on things there, it’s easier to be able to respond to them. I feel bad when someone Twitters an@feliciaday at me, but I don’t want to respond back with an @ reply to every one of them because most people don’t know what the heck I’m responding to. Friendfeed creates the possibility of having discussions about Twitters, and anything else really. I’m starting to use it more and more.
Can’t wait for tonight’s episode to air! Er, stream…whatever.

Absolute Chaos

Horrible has melted the internet, haha. Well, this site was in shambles before, and the Horrible influx kicked it while it was down :) I’m working on getting everything running again, I appreciate all your patience. We’re making the transition to feliciaday.com, and I hope to have the site and the forums and everything fixed in the next day or so. Thanks so much for the comments etc. I’m so excited Dr. Horrible is up, I can’t wait to post more about it!
