Proof that I was a child nerd

So, I’ve been cleaning out my closets because my pack-rat-ish tendencies make me keep everything in unorganized piles of rubble. I’ve been ruthless about shredding photos of myself where my mouth was wide open, ah the horror of the pre-digital age in photography!

One thing that I found is priceless. I thought I’d share with you, for your amusement. It’s a notebook with the following poem in it, written when I was about 12-14 years old. Anyone who realizes what it’s about before you get to the end explanation gets 5 nerd stars. :)

The Guardian
His evil colored thick and dark,

Sweet glance of power on his lip,

On many a neck is branded a mark

Of his “virtuous” front, the Fellowship.

He lusted after new domain,

Infecting innocent minds,

While mage and moongate flicker and wane

Britannia lay in binds.

A twisted child he strived to mould

To penetrate the lands,

While minion worked with souls ever cold,

Time slithered in hourglass sands.

The planet’s signal for invasion is clear,

Is not the turning of destruction near?

Yes, that is indeed a poem that I wrote about Ultima 7, the computer game. Wow. The sonnet form is pretty well followed though, right?

So obvious I was homeschooled :)

Episode 2 of “The Guild” is up!

Also…Brave MySpace for me? :)

We uploaded The Guild to MySpace today.  It took me 2 hours to create the skin on the www.myspace.com/watchtheguild site, and it’s not because it was complex, it’s because that site was programmed by lobotomized chimp-babies.  It truly gouges my eyeballs out, but if any of you use it, please take a gander over there and be friends with The Guild and rate the video (thumbs up of course ;) )  Oh and post a bulletin if you want to make your friends watch it too.  Yes, make them watch it!   You can also try to friend me, but you’ll only be doing it for my thumbnail because I never check it because, well, I believe my attitude towards MySpace is clear.   Also I accidentally set my age to 12 when I started the page, and I can’t change it for the public to view it, DOH!   So just invite me and I’ll approve you.   www.myspace.com/feliciaday

Because of doing emails for The Guild I’ve also started facebook and twitter and pownce accounts.  And then there’s tribe.net and digg and…how are you supposed to keep up with all these social sites!??! Does anyone really check all of them every day?  My God!

Sometimes you’d rather not know…

When I was a kid, I was pretty obsessed with personality tests; Numerology, Astrology, all the things that could tell me who I was as a person.  I particularly remember a passage in my Chinese Horoscope that said that people born under my sign would have their worse career “doing any sort of manual labor.” LOL

I’ve pretty much stopped doing these tests, but one from a BBC site caught my eye because of the recent discussion about “strong women” and sexual stereotypes in life and literature, so I had to do it.

Male/Female Brain Test

This series of tests claims to identify the “sex” of your brian. You can be male and have a female brain, and vice versa. There are 6 steps to identifying it, everything from a survey about behavior to spacial tests, it’s really fun, definitely worth the time.

So I finish it, and the results come back on a linear grid, from 100 to 0 on the female side, and 0 to 100 on the male side. Guess what I found out!?

I HAVE A NEUTER BRAIN!!!

Yes.  That’s right. On a scale from 100 to 0 in the female direction, and 0 to 100 on the male direction,
I scored a ZERO!!!!!

As you can imagine, I was pretty disheartened, I mean, scoring a zero on a brain exam is pretty depressing as it is, but having absolutely no sexual orientation to my brain makes me question those times I looked through a Victoria’s Secret catalogue;  makes me paranoid that maybe I was looking at the bodies instead of the bras.

Of course, the argument could be made that I have the PERFECT MENTAL BALANCE of female/male characteristics.  Maybe that’s why I’m so good at Tetris and my Mom made me get a math degree.  I just hope one of you is a non-gay man with a score of zero to make me feel better.  Oh hell, who am I fooling. No one else is gonna admit it. :D
