Great!

So, of course, I’m vaguely dissatisfied with my webpage AGAIN!   But I came across a fantastic web resource, a list of Gallery scripts for photographs!  I’m excited to update my photos page with the pure CSS script.  I really gave up on it and slapped up the easiest thing possible just to check it off my to-do list.

On another note entirely, the cookbook Seriously Simple is a masterpiece.  I can’t tell you how many people I know use and love this book, and not because I’ve given it to them (although there are many ppl who fall in that category.)   I made the portobello ragu tonight.  Never cooked mushrooms like that before, so here’s a tip:  They shrink when you cook them. :)

It’s up!

Well, after many weeks and several designs thrown out, I finally uploaded my new website! Yay! I learned many things in the process, most notably that I will never know enough programming to avoid tables.

There are many tweaks I need to do yet, but I wanted to get a nicer looking site up in case anyone ever LOOKS at the site :) I really like the colors, they’re bright and cheery without looking like a spazzy 8 year old designed it, and stuck epileptic birds everywhere. It’s light and bright, and has the info I need on it, for now. I really would like to get the photo gallery looking more sleek, but it was a question of not knowing jack about using javascript that made me decide to upload and fix later. Or hire later. Anyway, I hope it’s easier on everyone’s eyes! I’m going to be putting the programming aside to focus on another blog idea I have, and some shorts for the web I’m writing. Will update as soon as something is done!

So cloooooose….

I’m almost done with my webpage revamp. My obstacle as it stands: my resume.

I vowed to use all CSS for my new site, but the way resumes are formatted, I have no idea how I am gonna do all those little cells and alignments without tables!!!! I am tempted to just go the table route,  giving up and doing it the easy, less-cool way :( I’m gonna give it the weekend to do some research and find a way out of this mess.

On another note entirely, my friend posted this great video he made that is a spoof of Zelda called the Legend of Neil. Check it out. I think it’s utterly hilarious, even though I didn’t play Zelda because my Mom wouldn’t buy me a console as a kid and I’m totally scarred by it. I own a Wii now and I play it with glee to defy her. I also bought a pair of Jellies from Urban Outfitters yesterday because when I was about 5 I wanted a pair so bad and she said they were white trash shoes. But that’s beside the point. Any point.

Gah!

I just noticed I end every post with a smiley face.

Gross.
